Preston Jr. High Parents Meeting.

The Preston Jr. High Wrestling parents meeting was held on Oct 1st. 2009. The meeting was held at the (PJHS)at 6:00pm. Thirty packets were made and four were left over with two parents contacting us just shortly after the meeting to say they couldn't make it so the turn out was good and hopefully will grow as we get closer.
The packet that was handed out at the meeting will be available online here at this site. Shortly after the meeting the principal of the Jr. high made us aware that due to alot of concern over the football wrestling overlap that there would be substantial change to the schedule. The calender that was given out will be revised and updated with times and exact dates.
Thank you all for coming and please feel free to call. Coach Despain

Preston Jr. High School Wrestling,

My name Is Travis Despain and I have been hired to be the new wrestling coach at Preston Jr. High School this year. I am so excited for the opportunity to build a wrestling program at a place that has been so strong historically in wrestling. This strong tradition starts as you well know with the Jr. High wrestling program. One of the best aspects of wrestling is the familial tie that is built amongst a wrestling community. The best way in which to foster that kind of community is to have a strong Jr. High program. I am fully committed to providing the best programs possible for our young wrestlers and know that through the help and support of the community as well as parents this is possible. This letter is to help you get to know a little about me, as well as get some important information that will help you become involved and informed as to the wrestling in our area. The following information is subject to change and is a brief explanation of some of the plans that we have for our wrestlers. We have started a website (blog) that will have important information as well as pictures and stories about all the events going on around us. We will provide all wrestlers and their families with that website and the ability to get photos of their wrestlers on the blog. Because of the age of the Jr. High wrestlers we are asking that a waiver be filled out by the parents of our wrestlers if they would like their wrestler’s photos to be placed on the blog. The blog will have dates and times of matches and tournaments in our area as well as any important dates for upcoming events.
I would love to see the Little Warrior program become the catalyst for great wrestlers for a long time to come. I am committed to its success. I know through a lifetime of experience in wrestling that this is a huge task and I will need all the advice and help that I can get. If you are interested in helping feel free to call me at any time. The success of this program will not only rely on strong coaching but more importantly the support of the wrestling community. Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions and come out to help. Thank You : Coach Travis Despain.
